I need some help to i.d. 2 UZI bolts and barrels
Back in 1991 , I purchased a n.i.b., IMI UZI Carbine, Model B ,semi-auto, caliber 41AE with a 9mm Luger conversion kit included.
The package was locked away under climate control , and only opened periodically for inspection/lubrication.
The gun has never been fired.
This past week , I took out this set after several years of not looking at it.
Went thru my lubrication procedure leaving all parts on a blanket on the dining room table.
Wouldn't you know it , but a family member decided to move everything off the table
and while doing so , mixed up the individual parts.
My 2 barrels and 2 bolts have NO cailber inscriptions on them.
And now , I do not know which barrel and bolt is what caliber.
*Anyone have any ideas on how to identify my:
41AE & 9mm Luger IMI UZI BARRELS & BOLTS ?????????????

With the barrels out of the gun, have tried inserting a round into each barrel to see if it will fit. I don't know much about .41AE but I would imagine that you would not be able to put it into the chamber of the 9mm barrel. It would also seem that the case head of the .41 would not fit into the recess on the bolt face of the 9mm bolt.

.41 AE is basically a .40 S&W case with the head of a 9mm. So the bolts will not be different because both 9mm and .41 AE both have the same head size but the barrels will be different because the chamber will be bigger and the bore will be bigger on the .41 AE barrel.

As I have neverr seen and do not own any 41AE ammo ,

makes no difference which bolt is used,
both bolts will work on 41AE & 9mm
with regards to the barrels ,
the 41AE barrel has a larger diameter

The only possible difference I could see in the bolts would be weight/mass? since the UZI is a blowback weapon it is possible that the .41 AE bolt might have more mass? Not sure if you looked at them and found any differences?

I have a tanfoglio in .41 AE and I have a conversion for my Browning Hi-Power to convert it to .41 AE. I have had these since the early 90's and have been shooting and reloading for .41 AE since then.

The idea behind it was you could take a 9mm handgun and with just a barrel/spring/mag change you could shoot a more powerful cartridge. The .41 AE is basically the same as a .40 S&W, it just uses a .41 cal bullet. When you look up in the loading books like Accurate, they use the same data.

I agree with the previous comments. The bolts should be identical.

There are a few ways to ID the barrels...

1) Insert a round in the barrels to see which caliber fits (as was mentioned before) and

2) From the factory the barrel that was originally in the gun has part of the guns serial number (3 digits I think) marked on it. So, the barrel with a 3 digit number matching part of your Uzi's S/N should be the original 41AE barrel.
