Hello all

At the behest of AzCDL's board of directors, I asked Admin to create an AzCDL Section/Area.

This new area will be used in two fashions:

1. For AzCDL to communicate to member, potential members and anyone interested that which the BOD believes needs to be communicated. It could be about upcoming events, new or proposed legislation, or anything else related to their mission.

2. To a lesser extent, this area can be used as a method to communicate TO the AzCDL. Realize, however, that the BOD may not be able to answer in either a timely or complete fashion, depending on circumstance and other goings-on.

Because I am on this board a lot, AzCDL has agreed to give me moderator rights to this section of the board. However, realize that I am NOT on the BOD, so I DO NOT speak for them. I often pass along information from them, but I am not on the board.

As such, I will NOT be a conduit between the BOD and you. I am here to make sure that this section of the forum remains "clutter" free and helps the AzCDL fulfill their mission. I will not be drawn into arguments about their strategies or your desires that they do things a certain way.

Finally, at this time I don't believe the BOD wants this to be a general RKBA forum...we already have one for that. This is for items specific to AzCDL and Arizona. Thus, for the moment, posting of news items and releases from GOA, NRA, JPFO, etc., should be done in the general RKBA Forum.

So, that said, welcome aboard.

Taken from the description on the main page of this forum:

Quote:
http://www.azcdl.org
The Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL) is an IRC 501(c)(4) non-profit, all volunteer, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to the principles contained in Article II, Section 2 of the Arizona Constitution that "All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights." The rights of self-defense and bearing arms are the foundation for all other rights. Our freedom of speech, our freedom from unreasonable searches, our rights against self-incrimination, our right to bear arms, all of our fundamental rights only exist because we stand firmly resolved to preserve them. The AzCDL exists to strengthen that resolve.

From their website, their goals are listed here:
http://www.azcdl.org/html/our_goals.html

Quote:

AzCDL believes that the emphasis of gun laws should be on criminal misuse and that law-abiding citizens should be able to own and carry firearms unaffected by unnecessary laws or regulations.

Please remember as well that AzCDL is welcome to moderate this forum as tightly, or as loosely as they wish.

Guys

Dont screw around in this forum. If you wanna bag on me, that's fine, but do it elsewhere. This forum is for AzCDL related stuff, PERIOD.

If you have a question related to this, cool...ask away.

If you are merely going to waste bandwidth in this forum, you have been warned.

In here...

Is this forum going to be locked to only AzCDL members or will it remain open to anyone?

It is open to all to post questions, read, network, etc. It will also be where AzCDL posts heads-up messages, etc. to communicate with non-members who, nevertheless, still have a stake in what's going on.

But posts herein WILL stay on topic. Which means no smart comments such as was edited out earlier. Civil disagreements are acceptable, but name-calling and other posts which "crap" on this forum, AzCDL or member/non-member questions will be deleted.

I am tolerant of a lot of stuff, but not in this area. I will have no problem exercising a heavy pimp-hand in this specific forum, and I have AzCDL and Admin's OK to do so. FWIW, I would be this way even if I were not a "regular" mod in the rest of the Arizonashooting forum.

AzCDL is a group dedicated to helping all of us. And it is one area of this board I will not tolerate bullshit...it's too important a topic, IMO.

If you have more questions about this, feel free to PM or post here.

They sometimes work together, but no, there is no official affiliation. And, no there shouldn't be. And no, there won't be.

First - Thank you Tim for moderating this forum. Tim is one of the founding members of AzCDL.

To join AzCDL online: http://www.azcdl.org/html/join_us_.html
You can save yourself $10 if you join AzCDL at a gun show. We'll be at the Phoenix Ice House on July 19 & 20. We are also looking for volunteers to help staff AzCDL's tables at gun shows.

You can find more about us at our website:
Goals - http://www.azcdl.org/html/our_goals.html
Success - http://www.azcdl.org/html/accomplishments.html
FAQ - http://www.azcdl.org/html/faq.html
You can also find our newlsetters at our website along with the legislation we're monitoring and the latest news. You can sign up for our Alerts and get the latest news first hand. We don't do spam and we won't bury you in requests for more money.

Feel free to drop me a note anytime: treasurer@AzCDL.org. I'm a co-founder, treasurer, webmaster, newsletter editor, Alerts drafter, and all around "man behind the curtain."

Tim is AzCDL's voice on this forum - and we deeply appreciate him for it.

Welcome aboard!
Fred

I am finaly a member, got my card a few days ago from joining at the X-roads show. I didn't really know much about what it was, till I took a few to stop and ask the nice guy there.

I was the only guy at the table, which is a little bad if you ask me. More people should join groups like these and or donate to the cause.

Glad you joined up. They've been doing great work in getting pro-gun legislation passed, which has included repeals and changes to bad laws.
