anyone have any experience with these in a cz82?

the guy at murphy's warned me that in his experience these rounds dont feed well in anything but a real russian mak, although he had no personal experience with the cz82

it seems in general to me that the cz82 is a better overall pistol than some of the hungarian and polish offerings in this caliber, so i went ahead and bought a box anyway i will try to get the range next weekend and see for myself

I'm interested in these also, post a report on how well they feed.

A very good friend of mine has a CZ 82b (or something close to that?) chambered in 9 makarov, and he does use hollow points, although I'm not sure what brand. He says he's put about 100 rounds through it and it hasn't had a single jam.

I'll ask him which brand he tested.

I put several hundred rounds of JHP from one color bear or another along with a 25rd box of the critical defence ammo through my old c82 with no problems.

I have a Hungarian FEG pa-63 that eats anything I feed it -- so far.

be interesting to see if it likes these expensive little rascals.

I carry it sometimes just 'cause I can -- plus it is small, light and easy to conceal. Might be nice to have some actual 'self-defense' ammo for it. Figger if I put a magazine full of those in 9x18 into an a-hole, it might slow him down some.

also while i was there i saw a guy shooting a polish p64 (which several people told me these absolutely will not feed in), so we decided to try it, and guess what? the p64 shot all of them with no malfunctions either!

Interesting. I have a p64 and have been wanting to try some HP's in it. My PA63 would not even chamber them.

My CZ82 ate a box just fine and I hadn't cleaned the gun in forever.

CZ-82s were not designed for hollow points but they feed them fine in my experience. CZs generally have hollow point issues.

In 9x18 I am going to stick with FMJ, and if I used a hollow point it certainly would NOT be Hornady CriticalFailure. It is exactly the opposite of the design philosophy that works and is beholden to every myth and bullshit philosophy about handgun effectiveness.

Hornady said to expect "up to 10 inches of penetration" out of this round. No thanks.
