I saw that on the net yesterday and immediately thought about when I was in Basic Training in the Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington. There was only one rock station that we could get on transistor radios and so there was a radio about every 20 feet in the barracks all playing that one station.

That station seemed to have only 1 hours worth of songs, and they played them over and over, almost to the point where it made you berserk. "I'm A Believer" was one of them.

I'm still wondering whether he was heavily into drugs and/or alcohol or if he just had bad DNA...or possibly a complication of diabetes or something similar.

I was talking to a friend the other day about a lot of the drug use that took place in the baby boomer generation, and wondering if some sort of dormant health issues might start surfacing as many of these boomers start to age...time will tell I reckon. It isn't outside the realm of "natural causes" to die at his age though...I was suprised to hear that Andrew Breitbart died today and they are listing it as "natural causes"..that's pretty young.

My first breath into this world was a slap on the ass at Madigan general hospital at Ft. Lewis... [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif]

At fifteen years old (1975) I had a knee injury and was too old for the pediatric ward so I was put in the ward with soldiers at Ft. Carson...every drug known to man flowed through that ward..Panama red, mushrooms, Thai stick, acid, one guy was shooting up Heroin....

all of them folk are a gettin older...

Back on topic...A woman at work said that she had a crush on Davey jones, I asked her if she could name a chick that didn't...the first time I saw her at a loss of words.

I told her my first crush was Ann Maragaret walking away from the camera in white shorts on "Viva Las vegas"...that tripped my trigger big time. [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif]

Actually, a lot of the boomers didn't use drugs at all.

My drugs of choice were caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. I quit smoking almost 3 years ago, though, so now it's just caffeine and alcohol.

All things in moderation. And don't forget Timothy: Drink not only water, but take a little wine for thy belly's sake. A priest told me that one.
