1979, USS Duluth (LPD-6) enroute to Sydney.

Singapore is about 40 miles north of the equator. Waited there five days (also in '79)for orders to go into the IO to support effort in Iran. Actually got to shore three of the five. Great place. Good food. BEAUTIFUL wimmins.

Yes sir! Many crossings of the North Atlantic. Storm roll that should have capsized her...twice, torpedoed in the Med; fortunately for my Dad (and me [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif] ) it dudded when it hit the screw! The little DEs were on the outer ring of the convoys - can you say 'target'!
