Reading all the updates to this thread, headspace sounds like the culprit as well. I have had several ar10 NM's and armalites QC even on their top bin guns were suspect. Good luck.

Dropped it off with Marty at Robar a couple weeks ago. Standing by for diagnosis and cure. Will report.

Picked up the rifle earlier this week.
Marty says the AR10 is finicky about ammo, and I need to adjust the gas port every time I change ammo. Also, I need to adjust the gas port every time I put the suppressor on or take it off.
Well, that's a PITA. My AR15s run with whatever I throw into them. But if I switch from Lake City to Federal to PMC to Black Hills to Hirtenberger, I need to go to the range to "calibrate"? That's not the rifle I want for SHTF.

I am depressed. https://padresteve.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/blazing-saddles-depressed.jpeg

I forget, Do you have an adjustable gas block? if not, then maybe you should look into getting 1. If you do, then id do some research, find the "weakest" ammo that you shoot, tune for it, and the rest should be fine.

Yes, I installed an adjustable gas block.
The problem with setting it up for the weakest ammo is that it was blowing primers with hotter ammo.
Cuando venga la revolucion, I guess I'll reach for an AR15.

The only ammo my tuned 308 will blow primers on is 147gr LC factory ammo. idk why. that or my reloaded brass thats been on its 4+ firings. my PMC brass seems to last me about 6 reloads. I dont anneal and imo, i prob should cause i may get 1-2 more reloads out of them as i usually get split necks first.
