I'm having issues with corrosion on my EDC guns. They're both M&Ps with the "Armorite" finish that Smith and Wesson puts on slides. I contacted Smith and Wesson and they told me they only put on the slides and barrels. So the problem I am having now it that I am having corrosion forming quickly on frame parts and even having corrosion develop on the top of my slide after carrying the gun for a day or two in a row. I am guessing that I must have very salty sweat and that I'm having these problems from my gun being contact with my skin every day. Being that this is Arizona and it's hot hot all the time, I anticipate this being a year-round issue.

I have been trying to figure out with the most corrosion resistant finish available is these days but when I looked online, most of the form articles are back from 2010-ish. Can I get any input from anybody who's had personal or first time knowledge of finishes that are good at preventing corrosion. I'm going to get a finish that will be a long lasting and require maintenance to keep corrosion off my gun.

Robar NP3. They are in North Phoenix.

I second the Robar suggestion.

You might want to think about getting a holster that prevents skin contact. Also one that is made from horse hide that is between your skin and the gun. Horse hide is more waterproof than cow hide.
Otherwise, you got the corrosion resistant finish answered.

Thanks for all the help. I'll probably go with Robar but the holster option is a thought too. I've lived in AZ all my life and this is the first gun that I have had corrosion issues just from carrying it in the summer time and I've only had this gun a little over 2 months.

Short term, you might want to rub oil on the outside of the gun regularly.
