I noticed this years ago with Eley primed 22lr ammo. Older Philippine made Armscor 357 mag smelled like guava or armpit. Some Remington 12ga birdshot I had smelled like dog crap.

I really dislike the smell despite the fact the Aquila ammo is great and I use it in other calibers. Switching over to CCI & Winchester for my .22's.....

Call me crazy but I kind of like the smell. I found my k22 and 422 did not shoot the best with it, but another smith revolver I have shoots it better than anything else I tried typical for a 22

I'm guessing we all have different lots, but I don't smell anything unpleasant when I shoot Aguila .22LR

I can live with the odor considering the value of Aguila .22

I've noticed some types of surplus older corrosive ammo kind of has a strong sulfuric or fart smell too. I've come home and it lingers on my clothes and hands.
