Hi folks - been lurking a bit and I like what you have going here!

My name's Mike, I'm in central Phoenix but lived in Peoria for years too.

Been shooting all my life, but never really more than as a hobbyist. We used to go out past Campbell's Mercantile and shoot behind the bluff there where all the refrigerators and cars and propane bottles were. That was a different time I guess. Never been to Ben Avery or any of the established ranges, but we've been out to Table Mesa a few times.

Did some years in the U.S. Army (By God) Cavalry, and shot a 25mm Bushmaster on a Bradley for a while. That was a pretty good gig. Got to fire the MK19 and M2 a fair bit, those things are a hoot.

I've got a small collection of guns, some bought, some inherited;

Winchester Model 100 .243 Carbine that was my Dad's (my favorite rifle)
Remington Model 760 Gamemaster .30-06 that was my Granddad's
Winchester Model 190 .22LR Plinker
Gamo .177 pellet gun for the pigeons

H&K .40 USP which is my go-to pistol
Colt Trooper MK III .357 Mag that Dad carried over Viet Nam
Custom-built 1911, one of a pair, made as a gift for my Dad when he retired from the Air Force. Nice to look at, but it shoots terribly. :)

Currently, I'm building a M4-style .556 rifle. I recently bought (haven't yet received) a Noveske stripped lower to build up from. Wanted to start with something that makes me go "Cool!" every time I see it - it'll probably be the only .556 rifle I own, unless the virus spreads. Planning on a Daniel Defense v7 upper, when there's money to get it.

I do have two other long guns for sale, and when I've learned the secret handshake, I'll post them up.

Anyway, good to be here, and I look forward to getting to know ya.
