I would say that about 80% of every gun owner & enthusiast I know has a Glock 19.

Even if it's not the best pistol for you, it's worth having one on that basis alone.

No jack, there's just value in having a weapons platform that almost everyone you know is on board with.

Sheesh...

Sorry, I thought you were giving me attitude.

If you have *any* concerns about us ever getting into a situation in which extra parts, ammo, & magazines might be in short supply (as my paranoid self is), having everyone around you with the same gun carries a lot of weight.

That, and the Glock 19 is one of the more perfect pistols available today, it doesn't do any one thing well, but it does enough things quite adequately:

Accepts almost all Glock parts
Accepts G17 magazines
Perhaps the most common caliber in the world
Replacement parts available all over the world
Great capacity
Small enough to conceal, big enough for a duty pistol
TONS of aftermarket parts & accessories
Very easy to use/teach

And the best qualification yet, perhaps the most simple and reliable pistol in the world.

Even if you don't particularly like it or shoot well with it, it's worth having one of them in the safe.

do a google search for 1911 kaboom.
you'll find multiple pages of them.
does that make 1911s junk?

do a google search for xd kaboom.
you'll find them too.
they must be junk too.

just about every handgun has kabooms.
perhaps all of them. they are mechanical and can only take so much.

ha. but seriously: http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/general-hs ... s-you.html

disasters have happened and will happen with any gun has been or ever will be made in any quantity. It is well established that improperly loaded ammo is most often the cause. Glock being the most popular handgun in the US, you will see more failures in that brand than others. That does not mean they are more prone to them or that they happen at a higher rate than other brands, it just means more Glocks have been sold.

Glocks are highly reliable and have very close to the right balance of weight, firepower, size, reliability, and value for the market. It is just a commodity and the brand has done very well.

Back to the point, Glocks are highly reliable and do not fail often. They are not everyone's flavor, but many bash them for irrational reasons that are not founded in good thinking.

Besides, glock is one of the only manufactures that still makes 10mm. That is my reason for choosing glock. But that’s another argument
