Just completed my ammo inventory for the 2012 pocy-clips.

Got some suprising numbers! ;)

When was your last ammo inventory?

Hah!! I moved a few months ago, and kept coming across boxes of ammo everywhere. If it's on sale, and a brand I use, I will usually pick up a couple of boxes, even though I know I don't need it. If it's not something I am going to shoot right away, they get put into storage. Then, I don't exactly forget about them, but don't really keep them in mind either. By the time I cleared my place out, I must have had around 5k of various calibers that were not in the official inventory.

I inventory mine around every 3 months or so, same as I do my reloading supplies, in spite of the fact that I've got some software I wrote a loooong time ago that I keep the reloading inventory in.

I am pretty sure I don't want to physical it all, but I think I could factually list as follows:

.22 - enough

9mm - enough

5.56 - enough

7.62x39 - enough

7.62x51 - enough

L1, Example: for me "enough" is ~/>23K .22LR. I have no problem adding to that.

Its funny that you mention ammo and mag inventory. I just did that last night. I would say that I am decently stocked on .223, .22lr and 9mm. I found that I had hardly any .45 ACP, .380 and 12 gauge... Only 200 rounds of each..... I would love to add more factory .45, just to damn expensive.

I keep to 2 inventories of ammo. One to shoot and a SHTF stash.... I have been shooting a lot of .22lr and putting the savings to add a few more firearms, optics or buying factory ammo for the SHTF pile....

Am I prepared stocked? Much for so than your average Joe, but not anywhere near what I would need for the long haul..

Its a balance to "prep" for the future and live in the here and now...

My stockpile is on shelves by my desk, always visible, in an out-of-the-way room. Since I buy every week, no matter what, the shelves are filling up. Now I need more guns....
