So I’m absolutely ignorant when it comes to this stuff.

I have a bunch of rechargeable batteries but the chargers require 110v....also some other equipment with 110v wall chargers. How do I charge if we go without power for 24hours+? I assume solar but how and/or what system(s)?

Power inverter from a car/ deep cycle battery. Solar charger to keep battery charged. I'm just a plumber though! I'm sure there are better/ more effective ways. Good luck!!

I ran one room of my house off of solar for over 25 years. I'm a Ham Radio operator, so I ran 3 HF transceivers, one at 100 watts, one at 10 watts and one at 750 mW.

Also room lights, AM/FM radio, Ham/Police/Aviation scanner, antenna rotor for my Ham radio antennas, TV and a coffee pot.

If your batteries are 12 volts nominal, it's easy. If they're something else, like iPhone batteries that want 5V, then you need some circuitry to do what you want.

What exactly are you trying to charge and what voltages do they require?

Yes, you can do an inverter and their efficiency is pretty good these days, but there might be better ways of doing it.

I use my 18v reciprocating saw when camping or on a hunt. To charge the batteries I use an invertor that plugs into the power outlet in my vehicle and it works fine to power the charger. The invertor is only 100w output.
I have 400w of solar on my motorhome and use an invertor to run cell phone charger, etc. from it. It is 800w and has 120v and usb outlets on it. I also have one of the little lithium battery packs that will jump start your vehicle, charge you phone, laptop, etc. This will charge from an invertor, 120v ac, 12v dc.
Check out Renogy Solar's website for lots of ways to do what you want.

You might want to check out some of the offerings from: “Goal Zero”.

Recently had some exposure to their line while charging the batteries to my instruments during an extended survey in remote back country...found them very effective if not pricey.

+1 on the Goal Zero.

One cheap and easy way to charge AA batteries - get one of those cheap LED solar yard lights at Home Depot or Walmart. The battery in them is typically a AA. I've recharged of my AA batteries with success.
