I know that Cayenne pepper works kinda like Quick Clot for wounds. What I didn't know is apparently so does spider silk. WOW I thought, spider webs for wound first aid. They have vitamin K which promotes clotting, antifungal and antiseptic for stopping bacterial growth and infections. They also help dry the wound which helps inhibit infection. The web won't stop infections if is contaminated with rotting corpses so make sure it as new as possible. Then just pack it up touching the wound, not covering it like a bandaid, then remove once the bleeding stops.

I used to teach a yearly Basic Life Support class for continuing ed and staff recertification and cpr certs and never knew this.

Learn new stuff all the time.

You think that's cool, man, you should here the resonance of spider silk violin strings!

I think harvesting enough is usually the issue when it comes to the great uses of spider silk.

Silk is used as suture for surgery, also. It's extremely strong, even the smaller sizes.

By the time you find enough spider silk to stuff a wound...you have bled to death. Better start saving up all those spiderwebs when you clean the house.

And like others....I heard about this way back in the day.
