Quote:
“I opened the door and asked the guy what was wrong and he said they needed help, that his car broke down; and I saw him look to his left, so I poked my head out the door and looked to the right, that’s when I saw a guy standing by our rose bushes in all black and with a face mask and an assault rifle. I hollered at my wife ‘get back he’s got a gun’ and the other one kicked the door in and I just took two steps back and started firing.”

I'm glad he took his wife's advice and took his gun (he needed his wife to tell him that?), and I am glad he shot the SOBs. Not sure if he will get in any trouble for shooting at the guy who was leaving -- sounds a little dangerous for the neighbors, but the Authorities are likely to overlook it, because they were genuine Bad Guys. Anyway, here's a suggestion on tactics: Don't open the door at 3:00 in the morning! It's probably not Girl Scouts selling cookies, OK?

Another "gun used in self-defense" story you won't see in the MSM.

The guy shooting at the driver as he was leaving is a blatant violation of the law. There was no longer a threat to his life. Should have shot the tires.

Shouldn't have opened the door.

Agreed. Wasn't saying otherwise. Just pointing out his other mistake. One that might net him some disciplinary action. Least he and his wife were not physically hurt that I know of.
