Looking to rechamber a barrel from 243 Win to 6mm BR? Anyone in town that has experience with 6mm BR? Will need 1.00" by 16 threads for my Tikka action.

Thanks!

You might try Allen Elliot out of Florence Junction if he's still tinkering with stuff like that; he did great work for me, and he's also a competitor. There's a good chance you'll run into him at the prone matches held around the valley.

Unless you are planning on setting back the barrel I wouldn't plan on it. You may also want to try Lester Bruno.

Allen Elliot is no longer shooting and likely no longer working on guns. Great guy though! I've shot with him for 25 years.

PM me your phone number and email address, I'll forward it to the 'smith who rebarrelled my competition service rifle AR.

Accuracy speaks, on the grounds of Rio Salado/Usury Pass is another 'smith that I completely trust.

oh and as Kuhns mentioned, I presume you know the 6BR is 1/2" or more shorter than the .243, so its either a new bbl or set back. Not sure if there is enough diameter in a factory barrel to set that one back. also the 6BR case is so short that the old 243 magazine might have trouble feeding it.
