Been on the forum for a while now, usually read, but rarely post.

So I just acquired a new full-size Vector Uzi carbine, and am curious as to what ammo runs best/worst etc. or if there is any difference at all.

As to the experiences of the Uzi group members here, what advice can you give me?

Any info would be appreciated.

I prefer to run Winchester White Box through mine. Any hotter load will work.

It is not recommended to use anything with an aluminum case. Also, UMC and Blazer tend to be too light to reliably cycle the action.

Indeed.

All the SMG-based designs love and prefer HOT 9mm ammo, because that's what they were designed for. The only exception seems to be WOLF, which tends to work reliably in the SMGs I've used it in. Generally speaking, if the 9mm ammo you have to choose from is either 115 grn. or 124 grn.,...choose the 124 grn. as it will generate a more reliable recoil impulse to cycle the heavy bolt.

Thanks for the input guys.
It's almost always easier (and cheaper) to learn from those who have "been there and done that" than to go and re-learn it on your own.
I appreciate the info.

S&B 9mm is a hot load and runs great in an Uzi and at $225.00 per 1000 rds out the door. Seems like thats the ticket.

Best bet is 124 grain FMJ round nose. WW "NATO" is my gold standard go-to for matches. Also, forget running HP's. they can get you in trouble and rarely run in an Uzi. For subsonic use, load either a 158 FMJ RN or a 153 grain LRN designed for the .38 Super. HTH

I run the cheapest crap I can find in mine, and I've never had it fail me. Wolf is stinky, dirty, and drops the rate of fire a bit, but it runs good.

My Uzi prefers loaded ammunition. Other than that, I am unsure it cares.

I bought my Uzi `cause Classic Arms had blacktip IMI 9mm; when I got round to it, they had sold out... Haven't found a good price since.

I care more than my Uzi does!

UNGH.

124 grain seems to work the best.
