I bought one and ended up returning it. The add said "some modification required" so I thought they meant that the issue pertained to magwell fit. Ends up you have to nueter your FAL's ability to have a bolt hold open on the last round... No likey. The thing that angered me was(at the time) I went to the manufacturer's website and they were not upfront about what the modification was... if I knew that it meant deactivating the bolt hold open... would not have wasted my time.
I picked one up. I haven't shot it yet. You do have to either remove the bolt hold open or put a bolt catch from an inch gun that will manually hold it open but not on the last round. I figured I could swap the catch for when I anticipate wanting to run the drum, which I thought might be somewhat rare. Unfortunately the L1A1 catch I got to use with it seems to be slightly oversized O.D. to fit my receiver so I supposed that I'll have to sand it a bit or something.
I do prefer LRBHO, but my AKs don't have it so I thought it might not be so bad. I heard about the loss of LRBHO before I bought it, but thought it the drum was pretty cool and the Beta drums don't even allow LRBHO when used in AR's, although with those it doesn't eliminate that feature from the gun itself with regular mags.
I have an X-10 coming. They seem pretty robust and I figured if I ever might want one I better get one while I can. With the cost of ammo and the weight I wouldn't say they're super practical to be carrying around and shooting alot, but the FAL with the bipod and X-FAL might be handy under certain circumstances.
