I was wondering if cabelas buys guns? If so how does it work and do they give a fair price or do they rape you? Also is it store credit or cash? Anyone have any experiance doing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

my father sold a high-end collectable to Cabela's, I did not ask the details but I don't think he would have accepted store credit.

call them and ask!

Yep...they buy bunches every day. Don't expect to get what you think it's worth however. They will probably offer you about half of it's actual value.

they will offer you more for the gun(s) if you take a credit toward another gun, new or used. Also they do entertain offers on anything used; the amount they will discount varies on the time it has been in their inventory. I've always had real good service from Tom in the library.

You'll do 30-50% better on a private sale. Both parties win that way. Cablelas, like any pawn shop, buys low and sells high.

Probably be worth your while to get over to the Mesa Gun Show 10/26 and try to get what that gun is really worth in a private sale. Member to check for Arizona Driver's License/ Picture ID and that the buyer is at least 18 y/o

Tom is my neighbor...really a great guy. Paul, Tom and I have been out plinking. Just remember, they are running a "for profit" business. So the "buy low, sell high" game is definetly in effect.
