$1 is great, but why is Bill banging on airkills? I saw like 3 other FFL's posted on here that are offering $10 non-nfa's. [smilie=icon_question.gif] Besides if Airkills goes out of business it's just more money for all FFL's. Lets all play nice!

Yeah, it's so sad when an FFL gets that desperate. I'm sure he'll be in a local bread line soon.

Little hostility?

Just hate to see three pages of fair and even pricing then someone comes along to screw it all to hell. Gosh, is $20-$25 too much to pay for a firearms transfer? Usually costs less than the sales tax as it is.
My wish is this guy gets exactly what is coming to him.

What, all the business he can handle and then some?! If I was up there instead of Tucson, I'd be dealing with that gentleman exclusively.....

Nice attitude, does it carry over to your store?

Actually it only applies to the FBI/ATF and of course folks who will never come out to my store

WOW.

By the tenor of his posts he won't care about this, but my opinion of BillDesertHills just dropped huge after reading this thread.

Bill, ironic that you're going to hammer a couple of guys over a $10 differential in transfer fees, but you're the loudest crow in the tree when you post about your super low Glock prices.

Should the other FFLs get angry with you because you won't keep THOSE prices artificially high?

I found a nice Mosin (M38) in NV, but I'm not C&R, so I went to look for an FFL. OK, here's the situation in Tucson:

I go to newly-opened FFL, who states that he can only transfer (out-of-state) if it's FFL to FFL, and he claims he just spoke to the ATF about it, too. I don't believe that.

I call another dealer, who has been in business for a while and has a couple of stores in the city, and the guy tells me over the phone that receiving from a private individual is OK, but when I get to the store, I'm told "it's only FFL-to-FFL". (Stupid me, I did not get the name of the guy on the phone. In the meantime, I had already sent payment to seller, which I may now have to recover) I call their other store for verification and I'm told, "We can receive from private sellers, but we need to know their states so we can verify that their state laws will allow private-to-FFL deals." Huh??

Am I missing something? My last experience with FFLs was they could receive from a private party. And what does state law have to do with private-to-FFL? As far as I know this is Federal (which supercedes state) law.

So, to make this post relevant to this topic: Is there an FFL in the NW Tucson area who will receive from a private party?

Thanks,
MR2

Note to self: ALWAYS get the name of the person on the phone!

UPDATE: After searching for an FFL who will receive from a private party, I have found a store who will do it in downtown Tucson. They are not on this board and I will leave that as is. PM me if you want more info.

Couldn't agree with this more. Just popped in here to make sure everyone knew about the low transfer fees and great service through airkills, then couldn't believe he's catching shit for it???

And Bill, if you had any business sense at all, you'd realize why airkills does this. It's called a loss leader, something you don't make any margin on but gets new customers in the door. After transferring quite a few firearms through airkills, I decided to buy from him too because his prices are fair. He makes a sale, I save hundreds on transfer fees. It's a win-win for both of us.

Is there really no one in the Tucson area that does transfers? Man, it's been a frustrating few days. Gunbroker has a list of FFL holders, but none of them answer e-mails, and everyone here seems to be from Maricopa Cty and points north. Does anyone know of anyone in the Tucson (ideally Marana) area that does this?

For Tucson, your best bet is Pima Gun and Pawn. Used him plenty of times and outstanding service. Not in Marana, on Pima near Swan

I went by there the other day and they said $25 transfers. If I need a transfer, I will use them some day.
