Because they are "weapons of war," and as everybody knows, the Second Amendment is all about hunting, not resisting tyranny.

Quote:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland's ban on 45 kinds of assault weapons and its 10-round limit on gun magazines were upheld Tuesday by a federal appeals court in a decision that met with a strongly worded dissent.

In a 10-4 ruling, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, said the guns banned under Maryland's law aren't protected by the Second Amendment.

"Put simply, we have no power to extend Second Amendment protections to weapons of war," Judge Robert King wrote for the court, adding that the Supreme Court's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller explicitly excluded such coverage.

Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, who led the push for the law in 2013 as a state senator, said it's "unthinkable that these weapons of war, weapons that caused the carnage in Newtown and in other communities across the country, would be protected by the Second Amendment."

When you consider that every weapon is a weapon of war by the liberal definition, then it's not surprising. But then again, the left assigns "rights" to government as well.

I believe in states rights, so if a state wants to ban these guns, let them have at it, it is up to the electorate in that states to vote those people in or out, so let the people that tolerate that stupid shit, live with it. What I don't like is a majority of blue state politicians crafting laws for the whole nation.

Just a thought for our traitorous friendenemys on the left. I'm using their arguments against the 2nd, And I'm just throwing this out there but, werent muzzle loaders exactly what founders intended since that's what was state of the art at the time?. I mean libtards love to say the 2nd was about weapons available at the time. If so, it's clear the founders clearly intended to protect possession of military grade/ military used weapons by the people.

They don't get to be strict constructionist when it suits them and a mind reading living growing changing the constitution cult member the rest of the time.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... egulation/

Gun control proponent Gabby Giffords is pushing for new regulations on muzzleloaders while Senate Democrats are pushing an all-out ban on “assault weapons.”
Giffords’ gun control group suggests that single shot rifles could prove to be “the next bump stock” unless action is taken to regulate them.

Apparently,they still are.....
