I love gun show threads; a couple of people talking about the show and a bunch of people talking about why they don't go anymore or how gun shows are a ripoff or aren't as good as they once were. If you can't cover your cost of admission in savings, then you really weren't looking very hard. One guy that went with did nothing but bitch about the cost of entry, yet he knew what it was going into it. He also said he wasn't looking to buy anything. If you are just here to bitch about the price of admission, then why did you bother coming?

I look at them like car shows; I can still go and enjoy wandering around once a year even if I'm not in the market for anything. Hell, I spent more on dinner last night and I had more fun at the SAR show.

Now add up the cost of travel, parking, entry, time, a Coke or two, and the hassle of sorting through all the non-gun crap to buying online or a private sale on this very forum. Did your score really save you money? I went for years and had fun until the owner turned it into a circus of clowns.

Check my post 5 up. I saved $157.80. Subtract out $18.00 x 2 =$36.00 + $8.00 parking plus $5.00 for gas =$49.00.

Even subtracting a couple of hot dogs when we were there, I'm still ahead way over $100.00

I don't charge for my time as I spent it BS'ing with a few friends and dealers and generally having a great time. I'd be willing to pay for that, but instead I got paid for it.

I'd rather not pay someone to disarm me so I can look at guns. Glad everyone is safer for the zip ties.

If it floats your boat, toot-toot and anchors away. I'll just let UPS haul my ammo to the doorstep.

Why would you disarm to go into a gunshow?

They always unload your firearms at the entrance (that they know about...) and zip tie the action so that it can't be loaded.

Thanks for trying to be helpful but it's not my first rodeo, Cochise. It's understandable to make visibly safe firearms you bring in to sell or trade. But once again I ask, why would you disarm to go into a gunshow?

I went Saturday and thought the show was pretty good. Lots of eye candy and good deals if you employ buyer beware. I only bought a couple of things but some friends of mine went Friday and between five of them dropped ten grand. They found deals.

Went on Friday with my father-in-law and then again on Sunday with my daughter and her husband. We really enjoyed walking around but I must be in poorer shape than I thought because I was sure sore on Monday! Tons of .22LR there! I did find some smaller parts and my father-in-law bought a gun that he saw and really liked.

Saw TK there Sunday and enjoyed talking to him. We hadn't seen each other for probably over a year!

My daughter enjoyed talking to Kody Brown (from Sister Wives fame) at his parts table under the tent. He even was kind enough to take a selfie of her, her husband and him.

All-in-all we had a really good time. Because of the HOURS we walked around sightseeing alone I would say it was worth it! We will definitely do it again next year!!!

I've got a pedometer app on my iPhone and it said 5.8 miles for the day.

However, I did have to make 3 different trips out to the truck with stuff Mrs. Flash bought that was too heavy to carry all day long.
