PR&GC is the proud owner of 2 new MGM plate racks. We are also in the process of replacing/repairing steel for these matches.

Great steel match tonight. Running 4 plate racks in a row is pretty cool!

Have 4 stages of varying difficulty. Sign in between 415 and 700 and shoot. New shooters must do a safety briefing. Don't get quite as busy as Tuesday at Rio.

Placed the order today for 2 more stars from MGM. Should see them by the end of this month.

MGM plates are made out of AR500 steel.
Quote:
All our targets are made of 500 brinell steel, which is the same hardness as Armor Plate. AR 500 is comparable to roughly a 52 on the Rockwell C scale, which is also about the same hardness as a good knife blade. In addition to the chemical composition of the steel, a 'quench and temper' process at the steel mill further enhances the steel hardness and toughness. In comparison, your car is made of mild steel, about 135 Brinell, and T-1, (the old steel for targets) is about a 235 hardness. AR500 can withstand literally thousands of rounds from reasonable distances without significant damage

coming next thursday, bringing a friend as well.

Do we have to attend the safety meeting if we've been shooting Cactus Combat Match League and USPSA?

All new shooters must take the briefing if they haven't shot at PR&GC. It only taks a couple minutes

I checked out the winner of Limited D. It does appear that you should be in C class. Next week you should mark C class on your card. Since I did the scores out at PR&G for 3-4 years (I passed that job on about a year ago) I should have a pretty good idea. I have always suggested that shooters move themselves up before their three wins if it appears that they belong in a higher class. This is important because it gives the D level shooters a chance to score higher in their class.
Your runs look really consistent, like you didn't mess-up bad on a stage. Stage 4 had a pretty small stop plate, it looks like you did not have a problem with that.

Anyone know if its OK to shoot Tula 9mm or aluminum cased stuff at thurs night steel? I know its fine on the other ranges there, but wasn't sure about the steel targets.
