DEC 29 is the 5th Thursday of the month and that means (4) Steel Challenge stages are in play.
At least that's what a little bird told me...

Quote:
...we will be setting up 4 stages from the steel challenge again. Round count will be 80, with no misses. Same as last time, 4 runs and throw away the worse one.

Steel Challenge last night. I can't believe how much ammo I went through!! "Challenge" is the operative word! 10" and 12" rounds as far as 25 yards (I think). Those buggars are hard to hit at speed! :)

Challenging stages guys. Thanks!

Yes, the Steel Challenge is about Accuracy and Speed. Stages 2 & 3 last night were the stages that require more accuracy. I always tell people that the trick to Outer Limits is not moving from box to box, but getting the hits on the first attempt.

As an old friend told me once upon a time "smooth is fast" and "you can't miss fast enough to win" don't get to the range as much as we would like. STEEL is still the BOSSES favorite thing to shoot. If you haven't been to Phoenix Rod & Gun in the past couple of years give the a look. They are like a "new" club. Good people, good club., just sayin

FYI
There will be no steel match on Thursday 26 April due to set-up for the IDPA state match.
Normal schedule resumes next week.
Spread the word.

There are 5 Thursdays this month, which means there will be 4 stages from the Steel Challenge. Match will be run and scored per SCSA rules.

It is listed on the club calendar - so I'm going to say yes.

I was there for the match on the 15th, and I heard a few of the guys talking about it and saying there won't be a match on Thanksgiving. It may be worth calling to verify.

There will be a match on Thanksgiving. Rob has stepped forward to run the office. There will also be the Carbine/Shotgun match on Wednesday.

Is it free for spectators?
If not what's the cost?
What time does it start?

All these matches are free to spectators. But you really should just shoot it.
