The email address I got last night was: j.sternbera@gmail.com. As you can see this is not your real address and that I saw your 'g' as an 'a'

I do the best I can with handwriting interpretation, but I know that I guess wrong on occasion. The numbers in the handwritten scores are also a guessing game, but at least they will work if I guess wrong - email addresses don't.

This is a pain all of us match directors share; people can't seem to take the time to write on their cards legibly.

My suggestion is to take the extra 30 seconds to block print legible text on your score cards and avoid this.

Please. For the children.

Some are worse that others. Last week someones last name was "Fnnllm" and I'm guessing that this person does not spell his last name this was on his drivers license.

Just want to say that the folks at Phoenix Rod and Gun were very friendly. I shot my first steel match about 3-4 weeks ago (the week of the last dust storm), got there early, told them I'm new and they showed me around, attached me to the first squad and I was on my way. Lots of fun, learned a lot, will definitely be back (past 3 weeks been busy with a new job).

This might have already been answered in the forum but my search function didn't come up with an answer. At the Thurs Night Steel, do you guys have major/minor scoring?

Ray

Most stages are 15 to 25 rounds. 36 (37) would work fine if you do not miss too much. Any hits that are not made incur a 5 second penalty. that means that if you run out of ammo on a stage and there are still two hits left, 10 seconds is added to your stage time.

Even if you run out of ammo on every stage and have a bad final score you will enjoy the match. Once you have done a practical match simple target shooting seems so boring.

Here is a video of me a few years ago at PR&G: http://joedepetro.com/movie/joe_1_24_stg3.avi.

Was planning on going to PR&GC for Thursday Night Steel. Checked the home page and saw this under the announcements:

"The normally scheduled Thursday Night Steel will not be held on December 1st. Please come back and join us on the 8th, as our normal Steel schedule will resume then."

Bummer. [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Yes it is a bummer. The setup for the matches is done on a volunteer basis, The volunteer for that week of the month was not able to continue and a replacement was not found. I believe that someone has stepped up and offered to help, but it is too late to cover tonight's match.

That's a bummer, but glad the volunteer gets a night off. I was all packed and ready to go straight from work, so thanks for posting here.

There is always the choice of shooting cactus match @ Ben averys on Thursday night, it's just a bit more expensive. There it's like a mini uspsa match, combined paper & steel targets.
