Went out to Sugarloaf this morning and found this. Looks like arson to me.

A buddy who was at 4 peaks last weekend said that area was burned also. Jewett station road also had a fire last weekend and they had the hot shots out there on Sat making sure it was out. They closed down the area to shooting to let them work.

Maybe some controlled burning? The two most popular spots in tonto close to the valley having fires the same weekend is super suspicious.

or people with an agenda being malicious - maybe someone with a fire habit - not the first time I've found multiple manmade fires in an area of the desert

This is the season for planned controlled burns. They actually help the land and regrowth of good vegetation. But I have no idea if this was one.

Controlled burns of desert bushes and Cacti???

If it was forest growth (pines and fir) then they would have had
information when I called but the lady at Tonto didn't no Nuffin.
