I searched a long time to find an accompanying article that didn't contain nudity. Maybe we can start a "Girls with Swords thread?"

That was a joke for those that don't know me.

I wanted to start watching this but it's not on Netflix yet...and I NEED my subtitles. I wanna start at the beginning, which I believe is the set of programs called "Blood and Sand".

We just got done watching The Tudors, which while quite historically accurate (til the last episode, then they kinda went off the tracks) is more like softcore porn with really pretty people and great costumes.

Plus all the political/church/monarchic intrigue of the Protestant Reformation. Who knew that praying at home was, for many, a sin punishable by Death....Thanks Pope a-hole.

Then we watched 7 episodes of Tony/Ridley Scott's production of Ken Follet's "World without End". It wasn't as good as The Tudors, and takes place about 200 years before Henry VIIIs turbulent reign. It's about Edward II (son of "Edward the Longshanks/Hammer of the Scots" of Braveheart move fame) and his son Edward III.

If you like this kind of stuff, Jeffy, there's "Rome". Which was only on HBO for 2 seasons and had some incredible acting and dirty sex. It was produced, in some capacity by John Milius (Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn) and was great, til it got too expensive to make and was cancelled.

I am a fan of "Rome", both seasons. I DO like the first better, but both are good. From what I recall, I thought that it was planned to only be two seasons from the get go. I dont know why, but I remember that fact distinctly. I was "What? Planned for only two seasons?" Not like everything else open ended. My fave character is Titus Pullo. Simple grunt, always seems to make the wrong decisions.

Was writing the monthly checks tonight with the TV tuned to the CMA Awards and.........Stevie Wonder? ....really? His music was horrible back in the 70s and it still is...and it's certainly not country!

And what was that crap that kelly Clarkson sung? Just because she's from Texas doesn't mean she's country.

Miranda Lambert....a few less pizzas girl.

Tonight after work I had a dinner of bluegills and noodles. Went catfishing the night before and the bluegills were intended as bait but they were so big and plump I took some home and cleaned them. Anyway....back to tonight...I turned on cable and scanned through the Starz premium channels and came across "Pollock" starring the German sniper from "Enemy at the Gates"....I decided to watch it.

Well, what an Ass he was...and his art???? It consisted of random shitty drippings that he flung all over the floor. Rich bitches in New York apparently started buying it and he became famous.....and tortured.

Was it art? Naaaah. What would DaVinci or Michelangelo of thought of it? Theyda probably laughed....like I did. Lots of liberals that get to be famous movie stars do crap like this and think they're artists too.

Here's what it looked like.....

While I didn't actually see the following movies; I don't have to because they should've never been made. Hollywood is all bummed because October just had a record number of box office bombs.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/bo ... li=BBgzzfc

1st...another Steve Jobs movie? Why? Nobody watched the 1st one with Ashton Kutcher about a horrible prick that neglected his family and was a total ass. I would'nt watch it if you paid me...literally.

2....The Walk. Why in the Hell would they make a whole movie about this? It might be worth "one scene" in a movie but not the whole thing!

3....Crimson Peak. Is the ugly fella that plays Loki really a good choice to build a film around? ...and you seen one haunted house movie you pretty much seen Em all.

4...Burnt, with Bradley Cooper playing an alcoholic chef. I've never been one or known one so why would I want to watch a movie about one? Stick to voicing Rocket Racoon like you were born to do.

The only one that surprises me is the Bill Murray's movie tanked. A lot of what he does is over most people's heads and I look forward to seeing that one someday.

Yeah, Ive been away from this site for a few weeks but I'm back. Saw the Revenent a few weeks and been meaning to review it. First off, there are no baby bears in the fall, so in the real story it happened in the spring. Anyone that's ever fallen through the ice in the winter know it's pretty hard to survive unless you get dry and warm quickly. Leo was wet the whole movie and every fire they built was out in the open with no backing.

And should DiCaprio get the Oscar for laying there grunting and drooling? I don't think so. Hardy's acting job was better as you could hardly even recognize him.

Early on before the Trapper's camp gets attacked they act like they're hungry and need meat. Being a trapper myself I knew that they were surrounded with piles of beaver carcasses which anyone that's ever tried it knows is pretty succulent and the tail makes a fatty soup.

Was it entertaining? Of course and I appreciate anyone trying something different.

Just watched an unintentional comedy movie called "Before the Flood" made by a pretend actor named after one of the Ninja Turtles. He spent lots of jet fuel flying all over the world trying to act smart, which is what he's good at...acting. So Gilbert Grape isn't even smart enough to realize that he's being played by global elitists like Tipper Gore's ex-husband so that they can cash in on billions with a carbon tax. He didn't even realize his movie The Revenant" that he got the oscar for, for grunting and slobbering after he got raped by a bear was about colonizing the West so that he could grow up in a life of luxury in California, not about wiping out animal life.

There is one scary part where he meets some dude that looks like Frankenstein's monster in Paris. I think he was a Swift boat captain or something.

In some ways I guess he is smart cuz he's living the life...bedding models and meeting the Commie Pope and squirreling away big bucks.

The "new" Most Interesting Man in the world.....well he sucks. They should beg the old guy to come back. This one's not interesting and he reminds me of the tall freak in Bubble Boy. You know the sasquatch from the Howard Stern show.

Hate thy Neighbor...

This on some waste of a channel called "Vice". It's got this really ugly British guy that purports the be a comedian and they show clips of him doing what looks like it's supposed to be a standup routine. He also has a really bad speech impediment and can't pronounce about a third of the alphabet. The premise is he travels all over the globe to infiltrate and interview "racists" and then make fun of them later in a holier than thou way. So far I've watched him come to America to find what he called white supremacists, Sweden to find ....white supremacists, England to find wait for it.....white supremacists and Israel to find an anti-gay pro Israel group and oh yeah I forgot he went to Ukraine to meet with a white supremacist group. Since he is of mixed race and has a beard like a Muslim it gives him some kind of moral authority to judge these folks that want to protect their countries from being over run by radical jihadists and to keep their women from being raped. In the last episode I watched as he got tears in his eyes when he went to a "refuge camp" filled with middle eastern men living in squalid conditions. Seemed to me like these strapping young men had created the poor conditions but he didn't explain that. I've also noticed that he hasn't reported on or made fun of any Islamic groups. Maybe none exist?

As for racism. I don't even think it would continue to exist if shows like this went away and so many people didn't make money and reputations from it. Ignore these people and treat deserving people like people and it will cease. I don't see black people or white people until they alert me otherwise.

Ignore those shows and they will cease to exist. I saw it listed in the viewing guide and didn't watch it because the cable companies count the viewers. Don't watch it and don't record it.
You're right about racism.
Ever notice that it's always the liberals whining about race and racism? They perpetuate the problem whiling claiming they want it to end.
