I'm taking advantage of the opt out. People in OTGD are getting way too crazy.

I have been a member of a lot of forums since about 2004. I am a big car guy and forums are a massive resource for anecdotal evidence as well as tech support. I have seen this topic hotly debated a few times, but I have never seen a solution so carefully implemented, workable and considerate to both parties. I certainly give a tip of the hat to whoever devised this solution. I also must say I am most proud to be a member of AZS, even though I've been here the shortest amount of time. The quality of the input as well as the support of local businesses and promotion of our civil liberties is shockingly impressive given the majority of the content found on the web. Truly a diamond in the rough.

Deepest apologies that I appreciate others that care about our constitutional rights and are using the internet for more than a cesspool of violence and hate.

That's just a sample of our sense of humor we have around here. What you stated was very well written and put forth. And as a long-time resident of this board, it was pleasing to hear. But if you're going to hang out here, you need to have your sarcasm sensors on max setting.

Ditto.

Can't understand why I can't see it. :(

I'm guessing it will be awhile before I see the OTGD. I read AZS daily but don't put in a lot of posts. I feel that I would rather not post something that does contribute to the conversation (like this post). As a newb to guns, rather then post a question the search works fine most of the time, hence the low post count. Can't wait to see what is behind the curtain...

I'm also part of the long time member / few post count group that can't see the OTGD. I understand the concept behind this rule and I think it's a good one. However, is there a way to allow everyone the option of viewing the OTGD, but then limit the people who can post in it? If so, wouldn't this accomplish the purpose While still allowing everyone to view the OTGD. If I'm missing some underlying reason as to why this would be a bad thing, please let me know.

Excellent call gentlemen.
Excellent call.

Nope...not at all.
This board needs a OTGD forum. These are trying times, and I believe our country is at a crossroads in history. It is important that like minded people talk about things.
Life is not all warm and fuzzy gun deals.

I agree. If the forum rules aren't followed bad things will happen. There are a lot of things that need to be discussed...not just gun related things.

Okay Tim...I don't know if I can survive the withdrawal or not.

Can we expect OTGD back up anytime soon?

Without it, this place just aint as interesting. It's part of what makes this place a community.

+1 Sir, Can we at least take a vote on it?
